Mermaid makeup tutorial

Mermaid Makeup Tutorial: Primer

Starting off with primer I use the Melanie Mills Body Radiance Gleam in Rose Gold. I love this product because I think it does a great job of filling in my pores and making my makeup look nice and seamless on top.

You really want to make sure that you’re starting off with a nice primer that works for your skin because that is going to set the foundation for the rest of your makeup so you want to make sure it’s good and that it works for you!

Mermaid Makeup Tutorial: Foundation

For my foundation I am using Maybelline Fit Me Foundation in the shade 340. I really love this foundation because it looks amazing on my skin outdoors. Because some foundations match your skin inside but then you get outside and you look like a carrot.

That’s not the case with this foundation though (:

I am using my e.l.f. kabuki brush to blend out my foundation.

Mermaid Makeup Tutorial: Setting Powder

I used my NYX H.D. Finishing Powder to set my face. Even though I have dry skin I like to set my face because I find that when I don’t my makeup just doesn’t last as long so I always make sure to set my face when I doing full glam like this.

Mermaid Makeup Tutorial: Eyeshadow Primer

For my eyeshadow primer I’m using the Maybelline Photo Finish Concealer in the color light. and then I just took some more of my NYX finishing powder to set it.

When I really want my eyeshadow to pop and stand out I always make sure that I do this step because it is crucial if you want your eyeshadow to last (:

Mermaid Makeup Tutorial: Eyeshadow Palette

For my eyeshadow I am using the Life’s a Drag Palette from Lunar Beauty.

Mermaid Makeup Tutorial: How I apply the eyeshadow

I used Hunty, a cool brown shade, in my crease for my transition color. This is the color that I used to blend all of my other shadows together.

Then I used Campy and I put that right in my crease underneath the brown color. This colors in this palette are so vibrant and they showed up really nicely on my lid which I was happy about because some pelettes just don’t have enough pigmentation for me.

After Campy I dipped into Kiki which is a beautiful teal color and I blended that underneath campy and the two shadows blended together super nicely and created this beautiful light green shade that is just stunning!

After that I took Fishy, which is a deep royal blue shade and packed that onto my lid. I think this is probably my most favorite shade in the entire palette.

In order to soften up the edges and make everything look seamless and blended I went back in with Kiki and just blended it along the edges of the eyeshadow.

Then I took Beat which is one of the glitter shades in this palette and i added that to my inner corners to just brighten up the look a little bit.

Then I took the three shades I used, Campy, Kiki and Fishy and I added them to my waterline just to connect and complete the look.

Mermaid Makeup Tutorial: Mascara

Once the eyeshadow look is complete I move on to mascara and the mascara that I use, that I’ve used for years, is the Great Lash masacara from Maybelline. This is a super OG mascara and it’s definitely my ride or die.

To highlight I used my Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in the shade medium light, which honestly might have been a little light for me but we’re just going to ignore that (:

Mermaid Makeup Tutorial: Contour

To contour I am using the highlight and contour palette from Prolux and using the coolest shade I am going to contour my cheekbones.

Mermaid Makeup Tutorial: Highlight

Using the middle rose gold shade I am going to highlight my cheekbones and a little bit above my eyebrows because I love to be extra.

Mermaid Makeup Tutorial: Bronzer

I am also going to add some bronzer to blend everything together and I am going to use the warmest shade in the palette for this.

Mermaid Makeup Tutorial: Eyebrows

For my eyebrows I really like to keep things simple. I just comb them out with my spoolie which is definitely a necessary step for me and then I take Mug, the deep brown shade from the same palette I was using and I use that color to fill in my brows.

Mermaid Makeup Tutorial: Lip color

Then taking the NYX Liquid Suede in the color Soft Spoken I am just going to use that for my lip color. I really like that it’s a softer pink and I think it goes with the look really well.

Alright beauties! That is it for this makeup tutorial!
