Hello, beauties! Today I’m going to be doing a review of the Life’s A Drag palette which is the newest product from Lunar Beauty.
For those of you who don’t live on YouTube, Lunar Beauty is the new makeup line from Manny MUA.
YouTube influencers coming out with makeup brands is not new but it’s still a pretty impressive accomplishment so I give props to Manny for making it happen!
I’m going to give y’all the real tea on this palette and what I think of it and I’ll also leave all the purchase information below in case you’re interested in buying it.
Just for the record, I am not an affiliate of this product so if you do make a purchase all proceeds will go to Manny. I will not be receiving a commission.

Life’s A Drag…what’s so special about it?
I first found out about Life’s a Drag from Manny’s Youtube Channel when he revealed that he was creating his own makeup line and that he was going to be launching a product.
I’ve followed Manny for a while now and I really love what he does on his channel and I really trust him as an influencer which is why I cried tears of joy when he announced this palette was launching.
What initially got me interested in this palette was the backstory behind its creation.
Basically, Manny, before he was a YouTube sensation, started out in drag. YAS hunty!
So this palette is paying homage to the start of his career but also to the drag community as a whole which I love and I think it’s really unique and creative.
Another reason I was really interested in this palette is that I am a drugstore queen. I believe that makeup does not have to be and shouldn’t be super expensive so most of my makeup is affordable drugstore makeup. However, I have always wanted a high-end palette and I’ve been in the market for one for a while.
I decided to go with Life’s a Drag because I trust Manny and also because this palette is just so stunning!
Why this palette?
Once I saw the packaging of this palette and the color story I knew I had to have it.
First of all, it’s huge! The palette is pretty darn big which is great because you get a lot of product for the price. It’s white, gold and rose gold so I already felt a connection with this palette because I love rose gold!
The front side of the packaging has Manny’s eyes done up in drag which is pretty clever from a PR standpoint so good job Manny!
Life’s a Drag is an interesting palette because it is a mixture of neutral shades and bright colorful shades which is pretty different from other palettes I’ve seen that lean more toward neutrals or more towards colors.
There’s 14 shades in the palette: six neutrals, six colors and 2 foiled glitter shades which are so beautiful!
This is a sturdy palette y’all like it’s got some serious weight to it. Probably because it has a mirror which is another reason I really leaned toward this palette.
It also comes with a dual ended brush, one side is more of a fluffy/blending side and the other is more of a packing brush.
So let’s get into some of the positive and negatives of this palette:
- The brush that it comes with is good but not necessarily great. It’s usable but you’ll probably have better luck with brushes you already use.
- The shadows do have some fallout.
- The shadows have a manufactured smell, which does make sense, but it is a little overpowering every time you open the palette.
- There is isn’t a lot of diversity with it comes to the neutral shades.
- Shady, the matte black shade, and Cakeface, the matte white shade wasn’t as bright as I hoped they were going to be.
- These shades are super pigmented. You really don’t have to use much which is good.
- The shadows blend very nicely on the skin and with each other.
- The overall packaging of the palette is A1.
- You can create a variety of looks with this palette because you have the option of using neutrals or colors or a mix of both.
- The glitter shades are perfection. There’s so much glitter and it looks really stunning on the skin.
- The names of the shadows in the palette relate to drag culture, e.i. Beat, Hunty and Snatched, which is really cute and fun.
What about that price though?
So now we are at the moment you’ve all been waiting for, how much does this palette cost?
This palette currently retails at $45. However, once you factor in shipping and tax I believe the price comes out to $56.
Now I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again I am a drugstore makeup queen! I am used to paying $10 may $20 on an eyeshadow palette so I have to say scraping out $56 for one palette was really challenging for me. However, I do think it’s worth it.
So let’s take a minute and break this down:
This palette comes with 14 different shades each that contain 1.5 grams of product.
The new Fenty Beauty Galaxy Eyeshadow palette from Rihanna has 14 shades and 1.4 grams of the product but it’s $59. So that’s a little price comparison for you.
Also when you think about it, 14 shades at $45 you’re basically paying $3.21 a shadow which isn’t bad and you do get a lot of product and you really don’t have to use that much because they are so pigmented.
And you also get a brush with this palette so overall I would say for what you get the price is pretty decent.
Now, how has this palette improved my life?
I’m gonna be honest, I may never use another drugstore palette again.I’ve never had such an easy time creating a makeup look.
The shadows are soft and creamy and the just blend so amazingly, not to say that I haven’t tried some amazing drugstore palettes but nothing that stands up to this.
Also since I normally only go for neutrals having all this color in my life might just break me out of my shell. Maybe I’ll start doing some crazy dramatic looks…or maybe just a pop of color here and there.
Now let’s talk about why you need this product.
If you’re like me and you’re stuck in neutral city then it would probably be really good for you to step out of your comfort zone and try a little bit of color.
The palette is really beautiful and very high-quality without being overly expensive so if you’re in the market for a new palette or if you’re just curious about it then I definitely recommend you check out the website and pop by Manny’s channel.
